When we were planning her session, Carlie described herself as a 70s girl. From her paddle boarding to her natural beauty to her African drums, she reminded me of a California surfer. So of course I had to ask her if she wanted some photos with our 1971 VW bus, and she was all about it.

Carlie has gone through a lot this year and her strength shines through when you’re with her. At one point her mom was standing behind me as I was taking photos, and tears came to her eyes. She was stepping back and seeing not only what a beautiful young woman her daughter had grown into, but the kind of strength and resiliency that she’ll carry forward with her.
