Exciting New Arrival! // Baraboo birth photography

I’m so excited to now be offering birth photography. Beyond excited, really. As a documentary photographer and, more importantly, a mother of three, I can feel my heart swell a bit just thinking about being present at a child’s birth and getting the huge honor of documenting the moment that child meets its parents.

Or the moment those parents become parents.

If you’ve been there before, you know that moment is incomprehensibly huge. But what do you remember from it? I’m sad to admit that for me, it’s a little bit of a blur. A happy blur, for certain, but I would love to go back and see the look on my husband’s face when he saw his son or daughter for the first time. Or the look on my own face. And to be able to share that with our children as they grew… wow.

If everything goes as planned, I’ll have some gorgeous and moving birth images coming up in the next few months. As with all of my family photography, it will be about the connections between people who love each other — the support and comfort mom receives from dad, the triumph after the struggle of labor, the tears of joy when that baby is welcomed into this world.

I’m also offering one opening per month to new birth photography clients.
